Alex Alsup is Chief Product Officer at LOVELAND Technologies, a Detroit-based property mapping, software company. In his spare time, he enjoys photographing the virtual streets of Detroit via Google Street View as well as the actual discarded fiberglass shells of boats that litter the city. This work can be seen at www.GooBingDetroit.com and www.DetroitLandBoats.com, respectively. Prior to moving to Detroit in 2011, Alex lived in Brooklyn, Hanoi, Vietnam, New Orleans, Philadelphia and then Brooklyn one more time. He is originally from New Jersey, holds a B.A. in English from Skidmore College and his Wu-Tang name is Ol’ Mucky Terrahawk. He would like you to know that Detroit is not the next Brooklyn, but Hamtramck is (well, a neighborhood’s worth of Brooklyn, at least).
